Welcome to Sound vs Systems
This is the history port, allowing you to venture back in time reliving old memorys, but we recommend not to dwell to heavily.
Times of old
STD
Its what all the kids want this summer, and what the kids want the kids get, with the launch of S.V.S's latest creation the infamous Socially Transmitted Disorder. Boosting over a 1000w of power and built like a war torn tank its certainly not to be ignored.
Check out the technique breakdown and building guide here.
Not wasting any time STD is now off for a two week holiday, travailing around the U.K. Joining 'One Million Climate Jobs' on there two week caravan, a 2000 mile campaign tour visiting 20 city's across the country. With a serious line up of meetings, debates and party's. Addressing issues of the green economy and catastrophic climate change.
Check out their website for info and the line up of events.

Wandsworth prison demo
''Around 50 people demanded justice for unfairly-convicted London rioters assembled at Wandsworth prison on a wet Sunday afternoon. The activists were told stories of people whose liberty was cut short by long and unfair judgements for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. The crowd chanted support for those imprisoned by the bankers and the rest of the ruling 1%.''

we where there showing our support and getting wet...

Hackney roof top defiance
''Anti eviction at work, squats saved by the people. Early friday morning, police and bailiffs turned up to evict a row of squatted houses in Dalston lane, but luckily the anti eviction squad was out, in numbers this time with over 60 people blocking the road and lining the rooftop. ''

we where there showing our support and playing some light dub to lighten the mood.

New years eve prisoner solidarity
An amazing time had by all and some lasting memory's of silhouetted prisoners banging on the windows, whilst crowds out side made as much noise as possible, and of course SVS was there to bring to bass, live hiphop and some rousing speeches, all together our best new years eve in time.

Bank of idea's, filled with repetitive beats
Yet another occupied space has been opened in London, this time the UPS bank on sun street. So who could resist a chance to bring the building to life with a dash of electronic music.

The growing movement of resistance (nothing to do with impedance)
Just two weeks after the last squat resistance, SVS is called in to yet another early morning shenanigans, this time to help defend a squatted tea shop in hackney. The difference being that the owner was also in attendance and after an hour of arguing with a passer by, left with his tail between his legs, vowing revenge. After the bailiffs left (shame faced) the doors were flung open and tea and cake was enjoyed by all, to the funky sounds of contemporary rubba-dub. Yet another great turn out and a chance to air the newly repaired Nautilus sound system, now fitted with three class d amplifiers, and new horn section.

N9 Student anti cuts demo
Errrm we broke down, couldn't call the AA, need to fix a trailer, going to start working on designs for a new hitch. Oh well it would have been nice.

2 evictions 2 sound systems
Bright and early Friday morning two squatted houses resisting eviction, 50 people turn up in solidarity, swaying back and forth in the chilli morning rain to a bit of dub, bailiffs come.... and then go, move onto the next house more banners more music but less rain, bailiffs come.... and then go, no one is made homeless today. The squatting law may be changing but squatters from far and wide travel to show their support.
Bicycology's 'Pedals' also on the streets. Sounding lovely (those horns really kick), is that jealousy creeping in, possibly... overcome by an overwhelming sense of regret i didn't bring a bigger sound system. One you can really eat your breakfast off.

Out of the squats onto the streets (and turn up the music)
Sound Vs Systems was out in force, for this landmark demonstration that saw police attacking Critical Mass and then later, mass arrests of the 'sleep out' outside Parliament. The day before MP's voted on the crucial clause 26 amendment, that would effectually make squatting in residential property's illegal. Despite extreme police tactics and the eventual outcome [it got passed] everyone came away with fighting spirits and an increased sense of solidarity.

The Perambulator : a stealth system concept
Having children used to end your life, but not anymore. Shacking out in 'mother care' has never been easier. Rock up, tip it up, n bruck out.

Fitted with blankey, teddy and nappy camouflage.
25/7/11

{the walls of} Jericho
The concept is simple, a 12v modular stack, loud enough to run party's off, and all active modular units for when you don't want to lug it all [trust me it weighs enough]. At the moment its around 2kw and we plan to double that by the end of the year. A serious 12v system. Drains batteries and comes with a health warning.

Nautilus, rises from the deep
Fresh off the production line, nautilus is here, a micro binary system, we've being working on designs optimize size and weight vs the power ratio. Nautilus is the first. it comprises of 2 active units, a 400 watt full range and a micro scoop, built out of a light grade ply, so it weight very little, plus its powered by 2 class d amps so its both battery friendly and packs a mean punch.

20/6/11

Pedals is off, loud and kicking
P.E.D.A.L. is a group of food growers, artists, community organizers, cyclists, campaigners and journalists, planning to cycle from London to Palestine in 100 days in Spring 2011.

This is the second design we built for them, and we think it ticks the boxes, we stress tested the hell out of it, repeatedly chucking it down stairs and putting the boot in 'check'. Its equipped with a 400 watt class d amp so you know it'll brings the beef 'check' 'check'. Check out the schismatics on the cataloger page as well as following P.E.D.A.L's adventures on their website.
